Sun visors have strong odor

In my 2018 Sahara Unlimited, have noticed the sun visors have a strong chemical odor that started about a year ago. It is noticeable when you un store them to use them or to hold sun shield up to window.
Any ideas short of replacing them?

I've had success with Ozium. They make a gel that can be rubbed on or you can spray a towel and wrap it around the visors. $5 off on their site but it may be cheaper elsewhere.
