I have the Artec aluminum. Increases ground clearance over stock and only adds 10lbs of weight after removing the factory gas tank skid. They are pricey but well worth it in my opinion. Can be had from Northridge for a discount.

I don’t have my Jeep yet but I had planned to go with rock hard 4x4 aluminum skid.

Why reinvent the wheel? Try starting here. Don't let the thread title fool you, it diverges into discussion of other vendors as well.

Hey- I started that thread! Glad it could help people.

I haven' been able to get out on the trail yet (work schedule has been demanding and I've been exhausted), But I can tell you 2 things:
1). The Quadratec skids are an excellent kit that is easy to install with good coverage.
2). I've ordered stuff from Motobilt and they're top notch to deal with. I liked the boat sides on them and If those were on the market when I bought, I probably would have went for them if I went for steel.
