Hey fam, hope everyone is doing well.

I often find myself rescuing a friend or family or even a stranger and I'd be nice to have some white/amber strobes to warn oncoming traffic

But seeing as there's a third wire that controls the pattern, I'm guessing that wiring to my Aux panel won't work will it?

If it does, someone school me please.

I honestly don't wanna have some loose switch hanging somewhere for the strobes. And I don't want to make holes or anything to add buttons to the dash.

Rather keep it to the AUX switches

Thanks in advance

Tazer light shows may be what you’re looking for.

Edit: Just to clarify a bit, there are several built in “shows”, and there’s a method to program your own. It allows individual control of all the lights, including the white reverse lights in the rear. Just takes a few button presses on the steering wheel.

The non led, gas-discharge strobes need to be hooked up to a controller that steps up the voltage. Different story if we're talking strobe-like patterns from a normal led lamp that only needs 12v.

My thoughts are to keep it simple and just use your hazards. More and more emergency vehicles are actually deleting their rear facing lights. Stopping on the side of a busy roadway is a dangerous situation. If possible, always dedicate a person to watching oncoming traffic just in case an early warning to run is needed. It's been found that a vehicle with emergency lights flashing is far more likely to get side swiped or rear ended than a vehicle with the hazards or just parking lights lit.

Also, depending on your state, the use of emergency lighting on a nonsactioned vehicle on public roads can be considered impersonation. If I'm coming across as splitting hairs, it's just because I'm used to operating in NY. Paying taxes is the only thing we're allowed to do here.

haha, im sorry youre coming from NY. Im in FL.

Years ago I was stuck on the offramp of infamous i4 in Orlando and a very kind young gentleman with a nice truck pulled up behind me, setup some cones and strobe lights because the traffic coming down the ramp were not slowing down at all. He stayed there waiting until tow truck came.

The times ive needed to help people, ive been in similar situation. Cars just dont slow down. I feel like if I have some strobes I can at least say I warned them from afar.

Looking for the LEDS. Just 2-3 on the front and 2 in the back. Small, nothing crazy.

I see that you have a 19 JLUR. The Tazer programmer allows "lightshow" mode, as mentioned above, that strobe flashes all of the existing lights. No need to add any further lighting and wiring. Extra perks of the tazer is being able to program for bigger tires, adjust low tpms thresholds, rear locker use in 2h and both lockers in 4h/4l, amongst a number of other niceties to fully exploit the rubicons capabilities. You might spend nearly the same that a Tazer costs on a couple pairs of dedicated lights, switches, relays/fuses, and wiring harnesses and you'd only be getting that one added function. Just a thought worth mentioning.

This might be the solution. I just ordered the Tazer now. Ive been going back and forth on it and a Livernois tune but need something right now.

Now I wonder if I could use some kind of splitter so that I can add my pod lights and bumper lights to the light show but isolate them from activating any other instance except through my AUX button.

That level of wizardry is not in my wheelhouse.

Although, there's something to be said for being able to let all the other lighting flash, while your aux lighting stays constant for lighting the work area which will help oncoming traffic see that there are people moving about. Again, just spit balling.

I used the fog circuits to activate mine. Could do a normally closed relay triggered by the fog (or another) signals. Then you would use Aux to turn it on, and the light show would flash them opposite of the trigger circuit.

This might be it.

I have 2 pods. 1 set of yellow pointing straight forward and 1 set of white/clear for ditch. I could do the yellow ones connected to the fogs since that's the only time I'd really have those on. Then they would activate with the light show

Brilliant! Thank you all!

FYI, each fog is activated separately. You may want to cross wire them so they wig wag sides (left fog to right pod)

edit, not sure it will let me attach a video, but here’s mine:
