Does anyone know why these happen and how to prevent/correct them? I had a 22 Wrangler and this didn’t really start happening till later on in the soft tops life and only on the rear window. This is a new 24. I just installed this soft top on it about two months ago and it’s already happening. It’s on the two side windows as well. Any advice would be helpful. I use a soft top cleaner for it from Bestop and just put the Bestop twill protectant on it so not sure if that may be causing it. I would think it wouldn’t as best top recommend it, and I followed their directions. I didn’t over saturate with the protectant and it didn’t rain on it for days, way more than the 24 hours.

They do come off when using the vinyl window cleaner but I know that was the case with the rear on my old soft top and eventually they were permanently there. I just want to prevent this from happening.

Looks like residue from whatever you use to wash/treat the top is dripping onto the plastic of the window.

My bet is that is residue from the cleaner or protectant you are using on the top. I've never seen it on my tops but my Jeeps have always been garaged so I never really had the need for a protectant.

I really don’t understand, I don’t overdo it with the cleaner and rinse the crap out of it when cleaning, and with the product recommend specifically by Bestop. Also didn’t put a lot of the protectant on it either. This is my fist time putting the protectant on so I guess I’ll see if it stops after the rain rinses the “excess” off.

They are also plastic windows, they are going to get scratched, dented, creased, and show age. I wouldnt stress too much about it.

I understand that, but it’s less than 3 months old and this didn’t happen on my old soft top till about 2 years old. I also don’t “Jeep” in my Jeep much so it really shouldn’t get scratched unless I wash it incorrectly. The beach is the most off-roading she’ll see till she’s older and paid off! For now, she stays safe and pretty!!

Use "Plexus" clear plastic polish on my clear plastic windows, dash lenses, works fantastic, you can feel it working as you wipe it into the plastic, gets very clean, slick, even better than when new. When it sprays out of the can it looks and smells like pledge wood polish.
By far the best I've used.

I'd try stopping the protectant for a while and see if the streaking goes away - sounds like it might be migrating down from the fabric onto your windows even if you're being careful with application.
