My first Jeep, and I find the climate control "AC" button and indicator light to be completely different than every other car I've owned or seen.
When you press "Auto" climate, the A/C light goes out, which should mean there's no A/C, but of course there is... it's just under the control of the automatic climate control system. But why does the light go out if AC is ON and putting out cold air? Counterintuitive.
Similarly, if you use the UConnect to set it to "Max A/C" (wish there were a dash button for this), the A/C light goes out also! So no indication that there really is AC blowing...
As far as I can tell, the A/C indicator light on the button only comes on when you're in MANUAL mode with A/C on... not auto or max.
Is this normal? Or just another FCA quirk we put up with?
