So I took apart my steel bumper to swap tow hooks, which basically requires every screw, and both end caps to come off, then reassembled, using a T40 torx, which I could have sworn I read was the right size, and thought nothing of it. Afterwards thinking to myself, why do the screws look a little chewed up. It’s a T45 torx. I’m so mad at myself. They aren’t that bad, but it will bother me. I’m 99% going to buy new screws and just replace them all at $2.xx a screw, but just wondering, what are these made of, and coated with? Would these rust if I left them?

Yeah those wouldn’t be affected by a smaller tip bit

If there's exposed metal, you can spray some matching spray paint in a cup, and touch them up with a q-tip or small touch up brush.

Rustoleum has a automotive flat black with a brush and pen tip. You may also want one of the sanding pen, I think. Looks like maybe 20 or so pieces of plastic or fiberglass to remove surface rust.
