Is there any chance they change the design at this point and give it some kind of sport bar? A Wrangler without a sport bar is not a Wrangler. I don't think I could buy it without one either.

I think most sources and enthusiasts are thinking that there won't be a sport bar. The prototypes spotted so far seem to have a fixed roof type of structure in place. I'm hoping that the fixed roof structure is pretty minimal and still gives close to as much an open air feeling as a sport bar.

It's just a mule but you can see the C pillar to the left of the guy's head in this picture. It appears to be missing any sign of a sport bar.

I agree. If they loose the sports bar, or the open air ride that I love in my wrangler I will stick to my JK.

I have been putting off getting bumpers and a winch for my JK till I know if I will be trading it in on a JL truck soon.

Good call. I also saw others observe that you can sort of see the top of the pillar which is not body colored suggesting it may still be removable even if not a sport bar.

Here is a close up of the C pillar and a good look at the rear window too.

Hopefully it is not as boxed in and restrictive as it appears to be from that photo.

I thought these were just JK bodied mules testing new drivetrain etc? Is the new roof/tailgate design actually under all that camo?
