Snowblower discussion

Let’s talk snowblowers. My Simplicity that’s 15 years old broke some parts cleaning up after this past storm. It needs some thrust collars and the hook that connects the drive wheel to the shift mechanism. Come to find out that Simplicity went out of business a few years ago and parts are difficult to obtain. The hook part I need is on a back order with no release date so I’m starting to shop new machines. Any suggestions for a 24” bucket sized machine with good throwing power? I get major drifting here so need a powerful engine. Was looking at Honda but reviews say their 24” machine is under powered

I've been using the Honda 1132 for nearly 20 years now and it still kicks ass...I have moved some serious snow with it when we lived in NH, and it's still movin' snow here when we occasionally get it on the Cape. The track drive goes through anything vs. having wheels. I highly recommend Honda. (New Model of 32" has different model name now instead of 1132)

Thanks for your input. I’m a big fan of Honda power equipment. Have a couple of mowers that have been built proof. I’m looking at this blower, just concerned with some comments saying it’s under powered:

I can only go by my experience with my 1132, and after so many years of use, it still rocks...If needed, I would replace it with another Honda w/o hesitation.

It’d be nice if you could try these machines out in different snow conditions before buying

I got some email notifications today that there was some post activity here but it seems that poster deleted their comments. I ended up getting a Honda, after re-jetting the carb I have no regrets.

Since its so close to Easter, and we're resurrecting things- Ariens.

What ever you buy, be sure that your impeller drive casing is cast iron, and not aluminum. Anything else, really doesn't matter much.
