Andy, I am from Tennessee and have looked too many times to admit. I always use Smoky Mountains now and believe it to be the way I will continue to spell it! I love your trip/post. Great job!!!

I also love the Rock House. Linville and the whole area are great. Great trails going everywhere in the area.

You would be correct in your spelling sir. "Smoky" would be used to describe a smoke filled place, or the appearance of smoke, (precisely why the Great Smoky Mountains were so named).
I too, am a Tennessean ?
