just ordered my first ever winch along with the warn winch plate. THANKS for the great deal.......does anyone have any good youtube videos or instructions for a winch install?

This video is primarily about replacing the plastic bumper, but he does install the Warn plate and a Smittybilt winch in the process. I found it very helpful!

I plan to order a Smittybilt 97510 and i think I want the Rugged Ridge Winch mount plate. I have a 2018 JLU MOAB which comes with the Mopar steel front bumper. When using the steel roller fairlead, do I also need a separate fairlead mounting plate to mount the roller fairlead to? Some winch mounts come with a fairlead mounting plate but the Rugged Ridge one doesn’t.

If you already have the Mopar Steel Bumper you will bolt the roller fairlead directly to the face of that bumper. No extra fairlead plate needed.

We don't have an install writeup for the Smittybilt winch, we do have one for the Warn JL winch plate and Winch Zeon winch.

I’d order too if @Northridge4x4 would answer the question i asked in my post of 5/10/19. I subsequently called them and talked to someone in their customer service department who was clueless when I posed my question to him. Their prices are good but product knowledge maybe questionable?

To help answer your question and to be honest we have not installed a rugged ridge winch plate but we have installed plenty or warn’s and you do not need anything additional.

I've owned Jeeps most of my life and never added a wench...I know how could I do that..

With that said I have a 2018 JLU Rubicon with the factory steel bumpers....What do I need, other that
Smittybilt Gen2 X20-12K Waterproof Winch...Do I need addition mounting hardware?

You also need a winch plate that mounts to the frame behind the bumper that you bolt the winch to.
Just Google Winch plate for Jeep JL. Plenty of options.
