I wanted more bass than the factory alpine sub that came in my rubicon. I started out looking at kicker amp and a 12 solobaric. But as I got to search more and more I decided to go with a stinger mt2000.1 amp and a skar evl 12 single sub in a ported box. The stinger amp has way more power than I need, but for the price you can’t beat it. And I always like to have more power, I used to run a punch 200 on door speakers and a punch 200 to one eight inch subwoofer.
I always liked the bass from a 12 inch sub, and this setup does not disappoint. Hits hard and is very loud, exactly what I wanted, it does make the factory front soundstage weak though. May upgrade it later for more volume.
i used a kicker loc and it has a remote Turn on feature but it would click the amp off and on without the radio on? Some sort of interference? I wired the remote turn on for the amp to an auxilary switch.
very happy with how it turned out, Skar is a cheaper brand, but so far so good. I did go with one of their better subs so we will see how it turns out.
