I am doing a synthetic conversion on an Evo 10. I ordered the warm synthetic rope and it came with the screw for the drum. Is that secure enough or should I use something like the bubba rope line lock.

The type of fastener thingy doesn’t matter, it’s just to keep tension while you start the wrap. Friction of the wraps is what secures the line and you should NEVER pull with less than six wraps. If you have that much line out, you can loose tension on the drum so the best way is to secure the first 3-4 wraps to drum with duct tape. Not cheap tape, it gets hot.

Good ole Pirate. It’s been awhile since I have been there.

Thanks!

Yeah, never been the same after Vertiscope bought it. Still has some of the best tech on the web.
