I have never been there and wanted to see if anyone knows what to expect for the trails there?

Anything challenging, mud, sand, hills, etc?

How big is it?

Any recommended trails or routes?

Thanks,

Richloam is alot of wet and muddy trails. It is in the same county I live in and been there many times. We have had alot of rain this year so you would need to careful and back out when needed.

Yep... what RCR1340 said...

Don't go alone, been stuck out there before for a little while. Bought a winch and got stuck for not as long... Enough trees to get you out of trouble most of the time.

I'm too late for advice... but for next time you know.

Didn't make it, things happened.

So we are trying again on the 17th.

Any recommended trails or ones to avoid?

Don't like tight trails and scratches.

I live by Richloam and been there quite a few times, enter from US-471. The entrance off 565 is a horrible mud hole, and a few miles west of there I crossed some water that came over my front fenders. If you stay on the main roads you won't have any issues with scratches, side trails get really tight. It's been about two weeks since I was there last but east Richloam is more wet IMO. South Grade Road dead ends unless you want to try your luck through thick mud.The north/south Power Line Road has really tall grass but I only made it about 3/4 way before I turned around as the trail disappeared. There's swap on both sides of the road so a JLU might not be able to turn around.

Check out the map here: http://myfwc.com/hunting/wma-brochures/ne/richloam/ it has most trails.

If you want to see something really random in South-West Richloam, take Devil's Creek south then go east on Titus Strip or May's Place, I cannot remember which. There's also Richloam General Store which is kind of neat, its on Clay Sink Road and Riverland.
