Anyone out there installed retractable power steps on a 4 door JL?
If so, what brand and model number did you use?
Do you feel it was a good investment in your Jeep?

There are others, but the wife loves the amp research steps we had installed before we even took delivery. The 6" width was one reason I chose them over the rock slides. I like the idea of the rockslides but judged it would be much easier on the feet and knees to get the wider step. If we were hard core frequent rock climbing junkies I might have gotten away with telling her to just suck it up and watch your step.

RBP Stealth Power Boards. Never been happier. They look just like the stock Rubicon Rock Guards when closed.

Search is your friend. There have been multiple threads on this and you will find that opinions are just that and they aren’t going to help you. We all have the different brands and we all like them. No one has reported yet that the ones they bought and installed they didn’t like.
+1 for Rockslide Engineering for me.

Many thanks.

These are mine. It's been 2 years and they've been really good. The shorter members of my crew have been very pleased.

Hi Steve:
Thanks for sharing, initially this was my first option but after see one of the forum members that mark the steps with one screw in the installation and they only have one engine by side, I will want to know more about the RBP.
Again many thanks, have a great day.

We had the AMP steps installed 2.5 years ago through the dealer before we even took delivery, my vertically challenged spouse insisted on it. They worked great until about two weeks ago, coincidentally failing shortly after the aux battery crapped out and shut EVERYTHING down. I suspect the controller didn't like the low voltage.

The battery was replaced by Jeep under warranty and AMP replaced the controller, also under warranty. The replacement was simply unplug the original, replace, working again. AMP diagnosed the issue based on my description of symptoms. I had to send proof of purchase and a photo of the controller (to confirm they were sending the correct one to me). All done via email, easy peasy.
