Replace center armrest with spring hinge

Hi all, my existing center armrest is in pretty bad shape so I bought a new armrest from Mopar and it came with the armrest, tray and spring hinge. After looking at the center console I couldn't see a way to remove the spring hinge from the inside of the console so I just removed the actual armrest piece from the spring hinge and swapped them out.

Just for my own information, if I wanted to replace the entire assembly - how do I get to the bottom part of the spring hinge? Does that involve removing the entire center console to get to those screws? I did see the two threads where the poster was directed to a video installing the phone charging armrest. That's why I just replaced the top piece. But I'm curious how to replace the whole assembly.
