Does anyone know if a rear bumper replacement is hard to do? Or should I take it to a body shop? My husband seems to think it may be easy to replace it. I called my local dealer and they don't do repairs like that but they have another one of their dealerships that has a body shop that they can direct me to.

It’s about 10-15 bolts, like 30 small screws to get to the backup sensors, unclipping the wiring for sensors and the plate light, a job that takes about 40-60mins. You can probably find a takeoff for cheap from someone who ordered a steel bumper.

You could just get an aftermarket bumper...GoRhino with Quadratec JLWF discount is about what you’d pay a body shop for the work. Takes about 90-120 mins to do the swap. You damaged a backup/park sensor. Allmoparparts.com sells replacements, along with the sensor brackets and retainers, probably about $40 for the sensors and plastic bits.

3 small 8mm bolts by the flare for the mud gaurd ... 4 16mm bolts to the side of the bumper behind that.... 4 16mm nuts to the frame... 2 10mm nuts at the bottom of the bumper... And 1 electrical connector.... Takes like 20 min they aren't bad at all..

The top 2 16mm nuts are kind of a pain to get at and youll have to use a wrench on those, but other than that they aren't bad at all... I don't know why they would recommend a body shop.... It looks like a plastic bumper, unless body shops do those sorts of things

Did this last weekend. The cheap plastic bumper broke so decided to upgrade. Very simple and can be done in about 1-2 hours.

I assume this bumper does not have the Jeep park-sense sensors?
