Rear brake light not working properly

The rear passenger brakelight has the reverse light on for some reason. I took it apart and found one of the green wires going into the terminal connector was corroded. I purchased a new set of lights and it's the same thing. I'm not sure what could be causing this. My last set of lights only the left drivers worked perfectly fine but the right didnt work like it should. The running lights didn't work but braking and reverse light worked just fine.
