Power box on 4xe

I've seen some threads out there saying that people with new 2024 4xe vehicles were not getting the Power Box on delivery. On the Jeep website, it's listed as a standard feature, but many people on this forum have reported that they were told it's only for the Sahara models and up. I ordered a Sport S 4xe last month and asked my dealer, who was unsure, so I took it to JeepChat. The person researched it and got back to me, saying that all 2024 4xe models come with the Power Box. He said if you get one without it you can ask the dealer to submit a ticket to get one sent to you at no added cost. I just thought I'd share in case nobody had gotten a straight answer yet.

From jeep website specs seems the 4xe powerbox is still standard but the latest order guide (REISSUED: 07/13/2023 page 34) added " EV/PHEV VEHICLE TO LOAD (XFT) " and it's only equipped with Sahara, HA and Rubicon. From what I understand, VEHICLE TO LOAD is what powerbox for.
I've seen many 4xe in dealers lot and wonder if any 24 sport/willys owner actually got the powerbox?

I'll see when my Sport S gets here. According the person I spoke to at Jeep Chat, it sounds like if it's not there, I just have to ask the dealer to report it and they'll ship it to me. I plan to use that e-mail and the website "Standard" to argue it and don't doubt I can get it sent. I plan to use it a lot on my camping trips and for our freezer at home when the power goes out.

The latest drama is that it wasn't on the window sticker or build sheet. I've seen others report that they had one, even though it wasn't on their sheets. I e-mailed the Jeep representative again and a different person got back to me stating it wasn't available on the lower two models. When I informed her of the previous conversation, she apologized for the misinformation and sent me a press release that was supposed to prove that it wasn't available. I've linked it below, but it also has it listed under all models... proving my point. I'm going to push to have them send me one. We'll see if it works.

Not rubbing it in but I got one with my Sahara. It was on the build sheet though. From what I'm hearing is:

1. Dealers might be getting them but then being stolen by employees
2. Dealers might be saying they don't have it but they do and it's burried somewhere. If it's on your build sheet make sure the dealer keeps looking for it. I wouldn't walk away without it in writing that they could not locate it and will have to order you a new one!
3. Jeep didn't have stock and didn't ship it with the truck and/or removed it from build sheet because of stocking issues.

All in all I'd reach out to Jeep and ask for it even if they supplied a credit during your build for not having it. The credit they are offering verses what one may pay i'm sure will not equal the same.

With that said my is stored away in the bag and i'll probably use it once or twice :P

So, I actually presented all the evidence and screenshots of the Jeep announcement and correspondence that stated it was on all trims. Screenshots are from this morning vs this afternoon. If you’ll go to the link above, they changed it all today. Here are the two versions. My comment is that people made decisions that cost tens of thousands of dollars based on the information they presented up until this morning and that Jeep has an obligation to honor what was available at the time of order. I asked that anyone who purchased it with the incorrect information should be provided a power box.

Yep. I’m in the same boat. Relied on all the earlier documentation from Jeep when ordering my 2024 4xe Sport S, to my detriment. At this point, I’m just worried that it may not even be compatible. Like, I’m worried that my 2024 4xe Sport S may be like all earlier model year 4xes and unable to use the powerbox, because it likes the proper under the hood hardware. When I’ve tried asking that, I’ve not been able to get a good answer from Jeepchat or anyone else.

That's what I'm wondering too. Do the lower trims just not come with the power box, or do they not come with the bi-directional IDCM either?

Who knows at this point. The guy who told me I ordered a Sport instead of the Sport S said it wasn’t compatible… but after I implied he didn’t know what he was talking about he said he’d check back. Two hours later the websites were all updated.

I took delivery on July 31st. Now my model is a Rubicon, so that may make a difference. It is listed on my window sticker as a separate item under Standard Equipment - "Jeep 4xe Power Box". I did receive it at delivery.

What a shit show. I’m so angry about this. It would be one thing if I unexpectedly had to buy the powerbox, after being made to think it would be free. But to ultimately hear that it’s not compatible is a gut punch. Seriously wish someone would get a class action going. I can only assume a lot of people are like us and ordered expecting this, bc Jeep told us it would be there, only to then have Jeep pull the rug out with no word or warning or anything.

I was very careful in my wording to not imply any hint of legal action, because I didn’t want them to clam up and stop talking to me. Currently I’m seeking some kind of compensation. The lady kept saying that I didn’t need any because I didn’t pay for it. I’d say, but you guys advertised it and even confirmed that it was included in a personal email to me after I ordered it. We’ll see, but the Power Box was a factor in my ordering a 2024 instead of a 2023. It wasn’t the only factor, but it was a factor.
