This is fun to watch. I'm sure it's posted elsewhere on this forum but Imma just stick it right here:

Yep- highly recommended-
Jeep Wrangler JL Pedal Commander's claims...explained by Banks A42FB7BC-D410-4F5A-9F3E-82FD1CDBC190

My Goldilocks setting- anything higher and it’s too touchy. I tried “race” just level 1 with minimal throttle it launched with front end lift, Ducks on the floor, “sport” level 7 - 1 Duck to pick up , level 6 :like: just right — calibration complete ?
Back off a couple levels in sport and it responds more like a cable/mechanical throttle.
F— Torque Management

I have PERSONALLY had multiple vehicle come into the shop with CELs on for throttle position sensor DTCs due to pedal commanders.

On a side note, the idea of these is also completely nonsense, as they're just altering the throttle input to make it feel like there's more power. You achieve the exact same thing by just giving it more gas. It's a total placebo effect. A more robust way of changing the throttle curve if you're hellbent on it would be to just get a PCM tune.

It may(?) be a valuable add-on if your game is the 1320. That said in my day on the 1320 your right foot was on the gas and your left foot on the clutch pedal and when that Christmas tree lit up green the guy who dumped first got the head start.

I guess if you have a club foot you might need it today...by and large unless its $2.95 I don't need it...

Respectfully, you obviously have never driven an EcoDiesel with a throttle enhancer. Yes, you could absolutely duplicate this sensation with your foot. As long as you have the discipline and concentration to do it 100% of the time that you are driving and time your foot perfectly. :)

One test drive, by an EcoDiesel owner, sells them. I was as skeptical as anyone, and made all of the same points as you have - and then I tried one. Driving experience is MUCH more about seat-of-the-pants than the stopwatch.

It's actually 100% the opposite of this. There are NO performance gains whatsoever.

All of this said, the PedalMonster is a superior product to the Pedal Commander due to its more reliable power source. I suspect that this power deficiency is the source of the CELs that @alphawolff mentions.

This is a product that every bone in your body screams "snake oil" until you try it. There is a huge lag (thanks Jeep/EPA) in the initial throttle tip-in on an EcoDiesel, and this addresses it.

As someone who drives an F 450 with over 1000 lbs of torque, I would doubt that I need it in any way.. When it rains and I am not under load and the road is flat I can drive without the use of 4x4.

I just got back from a rather long business trip and was in Austin Tx which is in the Texas hill country and I had to use 4x4 to get up the little hills. Just touching the go pedal broke my dually's loose.

I'm just a sucker for a proper PCM tune. I believe there's a very nice one for the EcoDiesels too

Yep- Diesels are by far the worst for “Torque Management” mashing it to the floor does nothing but get you what the computer gives you…. Gas isn’t nearly as bad but I wanted and got the instant precise throttle control feel of mechanical/cable linkage with the Banks.

I kept my old Pete with a little 350 Cat in it passing up the new 450’s as the #1 seniority driver for years until I retired because it would walk away from and easily outrun them other than up a grade where the computer kindly allowed full power…. F¥<k Torque Management !
Test drove a new Ram— wouldn’t own it regardless of the advertised Torque … it doesn’t give you unless under load- ?
And yes I too used to think just mash harder does the same, wrong. Throttle by a computer controlled wire is not a direct foot to TB mechanical/cable linkage. The Banks gives it the same feel ….. without enhanced reverse throttle or power supply issues.

Banks supplies a splitter for using a derringer tuner and a pedal monster together.
