My sister in law just got a 2020 white Willys Unlimited and mentioned something about getting a white hard top. I think this would be a pricey purchase, so I wondered about painting the black factory hardtop white to match the body. I know the black tops are textured a bit, but has anyone heard of getting the black factory hard top painted to match the body??? Any experience with that or info would be appreciated! Thanks!

It's been done by a couple members here. Just requires a lot of prep to smooth the entire surface before paint.

Finding a white hard top would be tough. A good body shop should be able to handle it. Key word good. You don’t want it to look like crap when done. I would expect it to cost about $1500-2000.

Strictly speaking, why not keep the texture and paint it white? Won’t be the ā€˜same’ but I’m more thinking ā€˜oh no I have a unique feature to my Jeep, how awful’.

might look awful with some of the colours but textured white ought to look pretty snazzy.

My first thought is... Plastidip!! But, that's always my first thought. It might not work on the texture... But damned if I wouldn't give it a shot if I had a hard top and I wanted it to be white.

if you are willing to save some look into white Line-X it will last forever and cost less then painting and you can get a white that is pretty much the OEM white jeep uses. find your local Line-x dealer and ask if they can color match your top.
