Being the e-torque isn't even a option with the Gladiator platform, I might look at ordering one instead of another JLUR. Bob the bed, 38's and 5.13's might be a good winter project.
I had to look into that. Your right. No eToque on the Gladiator. Not only that, the auto transmission is only a $2000 upgrade vs $2500 + $750 eTorque on the Wrangler. So the Gladiator is $1550 cheaper. Other options like the cold weather package are also cheaper. For the options I want, I can build a Gladiator for $1600 less than a similar equiped Wrangler. That is interesting. The only problem for me is that the back seats on the Gladiator were not very comfortable. My teenage boys wouldn't want to sit in them for the 18 hour drive out to CO.

That is my understanding too, but mdkautzman just said he was able to order one without eTorque. I want to know more about what he ordered.
Just called both local jeep dealers and they said it wasn't possible. Would also love to see what he ordered.

Got the 3.6 manual to save $3,250 plus I really wanted a manual. My gf's Willys cost slightly more (3.6 auto, has winter package) and you can tell a difference from a dead stop and at highway speeds but I love having the Rubicon's other features (gear ratios and keyless entry) for the same price, I'm happy.

Didn't know about the seat issue. Seat back angle or something else?

Thanks for calling. I had thought about doing that too.

Where the seat back meets the seat bottom, they have an odd 45 degree angle that your tailbone sits on. It makes it really uncomfortable to sit directly on your tailbone like that.

I purchased a Sport S although not a Rubi I chose the no etorq engine based on cost to replace the generator if out if warranty. Seems a lot more difficult to change with extra parts.

Only way to order a 2021 with the 3.6L automatic is with the Etorque system on every wrangler model.
Not up here in Canada, only the Rubicon with 3.6L auto forces the e-torque, every other trim level can be had with the V6 auto without e-torque.

Good to hear. Not too many people will run up there to buy one though. I read on another post that someone ordered a Willys here without it. When I ordered my 2021, I wanted the Rubicon with an auto and could only get it with the eTorque. I believe that still holds trip, but if not, after owning the eTorque I am not sure I would choose not to have it.
