Have been looking for any available LSD upgrades for my open diffs on my JLU Sport. No rock crawling, but daily driver with occasional trail riding, mud/deep snow. Prefer limited slip over selectable locking or lunchbox.

Don't want to have to replace the axles. This thread below says there a Truetrac LSD available for the front Dana M186 but not rear M200.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/truetrac-finally-released-for-the-jl.105309/

Would it be a good idea to install only a front LSD for snow/ice etc?

Then hopefully wait for Eaton to release their truetrac for the M200.

I’ve been wondering how the Torsten Diffs would work on our Jeeps. I’m less than 2 miles from where they make them, so I just sent an e-mail to ask what they would recommend for out Jeeps. I had thought about this back when I had my JK and had to part ways with that Jeep sooner than I thought.

check with Eaton. I think they have truetrac helical limited slip for all the JL axles.
I've checked and they are not currently listing anything for the m200. I put in another inquiry to Eaton today specifically asking about the m200.

You would want to do a FAD delete to run a front limited slip.

Front limited slip isn't as helpful on the road as a rear.

Realistically, there isn't much for the rear M200 because few people upgrade it. Most people swap in an M220 or stronger. Low demand for parts means few parts available.

This is my concern.. That it will not become available for the m200. This is disappointing considering the number of m200/D35 axles Jeep has on the road.

The rear is really the only axle I would need to upgrade. For my needs, I really don't need stronger axles... Just better handling in snow/mud.

I did a Torq Locker in my M186, Nitro Helix (Torsen) in my rear M220, along with 4.56's
Mild to medium trail use. So far great!
With an m220 axle, there are plenty of options. The problem is many of us have the m200.

Bump this thread to see if Eaton or Nitro or Powertrax has a helical for the M200 rear axle in my sport.

Has anyone found an option for a torsen/gear LSD for an M200? Seems like something that would be a big seller in the JL aftermarket. I'm disappointed there is no Eaton option yet.

You can get a truetrac for your front m185 axle.
but the only option for the m200 is an eaton e locker.

What would it take to swap the m200 rear end for a m220 rear end on my 2023 JLU ? Is it a straight swap? Didn't realize there was a difference in the axles.

Control arms, track bar, ABS sensors, and brakes are a direct bolt up. The pinion on the M220 may be a bit longer requiring a shorter driveshaft.

A Rubicon axle is wider so it'll look a bit weird unless you do something to match in the front (rubicon front axle or just spacers).

So you are saying that everything except the drive shaft is bolt on ? I am a fair mechanic and am thinking of doing it myself.

I did know that the Rubicon axle is wider.
Thank you for your response.
