We did a Jeep Adventure Academy last year and thought it would be nice to give our kids a similar experience (they couldn't make the last one), but we can't get anything to work this year. Is there anything out there that would provide a similar high level overview and perhaps some practice for our kids? We are running stock, so we wouldn't want anything too aggressive at this point.

We live in the Fox Valley area, but driving a bit is not a big deal. If the right thing were out there, we'd even jump over a state or two.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I haven't heard of any in Wisconsin. I know there are a few in Michigan, likely near some of their off-road parks.

I remember an interview on the Jeep Talk Show with Jim at Adventure Off-Road Driving School by Holly Oaks. A bit of a haul, but may be worth a call to see if he has any recommendations.

I've never been, but I've heard about Tigerton.

The other closest place is probably Badlands in Attica, IN, but that's going to be a drive for you. You can also probably hop on a ferry and visit a few in Michigan. Silver Lakes Sand Dunes are fun, and I've heard of The Mounds and Bundy Hill.

I've only been to Badlands and Silver Lakes, but I would recommend going with somebody that knows the parks. The trails at Badlands have been marked better in recent years, but you can still get lost pretty quick there and make a wrong turn where you get into trouble. I have a stock rubicon and haven't been stuck yet but came pretty close a few times. Silver Lakes you can do on your own, just remember to air down, don't go in the water holes, and don't send it over the crest of a sand dune.
