Hi all,

Just discovered my hood on my 22 JLUR is starting to bubble.

So looking like I am going to need to take it to the dealership soon. My JLUR is a 6 speed so haven't had and don't want the updated programming or new clutch as seems to be too many issues from what I have read here.

So was looking at getting a physical lock for the OBD2 port, also would help not having to remove my Tazer as well. Also might help with theft, although that's not my biggest concern.

Anyone use one seen a lot online from a few hundred bucks to the 30 dollar range.

Regards,
Jim

I gifted this port lock to a family member who is the original owner of a cheater VW Jetta TDI. He too wants to prevent overwriting the original programming with an "update" that, per fellow owners, reduces the car's efficiency in a not-insubstantial manner.

I was impressed enough with the quality of the linked lock that I purchased one for the Jeep, just because. I do have to remember to remove it for the annual State inspection appt., but that's no factor.

Sorry for the blurry photo. I've a brand new Android, and I'm still trying to sort out the settings.

I'm in the same boat (but with no AC) and got this one from Amazon. It was about $40. Overpriced for what it is, but worth it for the peace of mind. "WIKIBB OBD II Port Lock Aluminum Alloy OBD Port Locking Tool". And its red anodized finish matches the ridiculous reverse collar on the gear shift.

I have only had my doors/top on three days in the last six weeks, so it’s a little more security. I put one of the metal ones on just simply to slow down or even confuse a thief some, since the locks are relatively unknown here. That extra min or few may save your ride from being stolen. Not a bad $25 investment.
