Just finished installing a No Spill Systems drain plug in my JL. Looks great and should function like it should. Very tight to the oil pan so it should not be any more of an obstacle than the OEM plug. Pictures are self explanatory. Purchased from Geno’s Garage item number EZ-DP-15-14150-01 and EZ-TUBE-CD-2001

Nice job. I‘ve used the same drains on my last two diesel trucks and will be ordering another for the Jeep

These quick drain plugs look really nice, but for some reason they worry me to much. Like the oil is all of a sudden gonna pour out one day hahaha

I like this one because it has a cap. The one way valve would need to operate by itself and the cap would need to screw off for the oil to come out.

I can see the worry with fumoto because you just shift the lever to open the gate valve.

I might have to look into this one more then, considering I’m one of the weirdos who changes fluids more often than really needed. Thanks!

I do my own oil also, so this looks like a nice option. But one thing I would like to ask, and I will be devils advocate here, is how much oil is left in the pan due to the threads going up in the oil pan? Have you ever pulled the drain valve out after it stopped draining? I would be curious how much is left up in there.
The amount would be pretty minimal I am sure, compared to the amount still up in the engine. But like I said, just being devil's advocate.

Not enough to matter, there are multiple places in the engine where oil pools and does not come out when the pan is drained.

Is it a gate valve or ball valve?
