Still good tread left on the old tires.
Look closely and you'll see uneven lug wear. There are signs of feathering on the tread face. Easily-noticed volume when driving (a literal roar, in some instances) is a unique symptom of tires with this type of wear. The OP has already confirmed the observed noise.

The tires should still sell, provided they're priced right and/or the buyer understands the nature of their remaining service life.

Yes they were due to be rotated a couple of months ago and we couldn't get them done, which would have helped with the uneven lug wear. I'm not sure what the feathering on the tread face is.

Those tires are shot there are age cracks in them, maybe good for strictly off roading.
Yep, I see that, now that I blew the picture up. Holy crap, I'm agreeing with you!! What is this world coming too?? Something is definitely wrong in the matrix.

OP, if you blow up the pic you'll see stress cracks in between the tread blocks. Those tires should be tossed.

Old tires have definite signs of being over inflated during its life. Chalk test your next set.
Usually I only have 35 psi in my tires the minimum to not set off the sensors. So not over inflated. On my previous jeep a 2007 JK I would run them at 22psi.

Don’t set tire pressure for your dash warnings/tpms setting, set it for the particular tire your running at the loads you carry. Once again chalk test. Keeping in mind to that temperature can fluctuate in the tires and make them over inflated or under inflated given aforementioned or road conditions.
