Hey all,

First post here as I've just picked up a new 2019 JLU, however, I'm having a real issue with the car drifting to the right at all speeds above 20kph. I've searched and searched the forums and can't seem to find specific answers, some say adjustable LCA's are needed, some say to get an adjustable steering stabilizer, some say its Purley down to the camber in the road.. the list goes on.

Info on the Jeep below:

- 3.5" rough country suspension lift (came with geometry correction brackets)
- 315/70/17 Cooper AT/3 XLT

The Jeep has been aligned 3 times, two from the dealer and once from an independent tire specialist and they are saying everything is in line, attached is the latest print out from the alignment specialist.

Now, I've noticed on the printout, the camber on the left side of the car doesn't match the right side, however, at the shop they said this is completely fine and should not be creating the drift to the right - Am I right to believe them or is this causing the car to pull to the right?

It's quite bad, whilst going at higher speeds (100kph +), if I let go of the wheel the car will be in the next lane within about 5-10 seconds. I've driven the jeep like this for around 2000km now and across multiple roads, flat areas, roads that camber down to the left etc. and it's still pulling to the right no matter what.

I have a couple of questions below:

1. Is this to do with my lift, are the RC geometry correction brackets not doing the job and the caster is off?

2. Is this from the tires?

3. I've heard pulling the power steering fuse can do the trick, however, I can't find any info on how to do it - would this be a smart move trying or am I best to get the dealer to do it?

Please do let me know any suggestions/advice as this pull to the right is driving me crazy, the jeep drives like a dream otherwise.

Thanks all, appreciate your thoughts.

J

Did the Jeep Dealer (I assume it was purchased at a Jeep Dealer) put the Lift kit on? Did you check to see if your Jeep falls under the V41 recall for the steering stabilizer?

Yep, lift, tires etc. All performed by the dealer from new.

I'm planning to give the dealer a call tomorrow to see if it falls under the v41 recall, however, as the jeep was picked up only 3 weeks ago I presume this would have been addressed before the sale - I also plan to put the Fox 2.0 TS stablizer on asap when it comes in stock over here.

Luckily the jeep doesnt need constant correction on the motorway like a lot of others I've been reading about out there, it just pulls to the right - the steering feels good apart from having to counter steer the right pull.

Is the factory steering stabilizer still in use, or did they switch that to aftermarket? Some have reported having a pressurized unit that caused a pull to the right, but those were all aftermarket, if I remember correctly. For the sake of the process of elimination, you could pop the stabilizer off to see if she still pulls.

The alignment specs ARE NOT causing a pull to the right....
Caster is fine ( would have to be lower on the right side to cause drift/ pull ) it appears to be almost matching on each side...
Camber is fine... ( approximately .25 leading to the right, but not enough to be an issue ) it is not adjustable from the factory.
Toe-in is in specs ( has no affect on pull/ drift)
It is the major cause of tire wear, but yours is right on specs.
The pull is either tire related ? Possibly brakes ( extremely doubtful for newer vehicle..)
Could be the power steering ( not sure about pulling to fuse to reset the system??)
Years ago, ( way back in time).. Early Chrysler vehicles had a pressure regulator on the steering gearbox ( you could adjust the valve and affect pulling)... The new gearboxes are electronically controlled.. possible cause?...
GOOD LUCK

Hmm pull to the right just wondering do the roads you normally drive on slope to the right slightly for when it rains mine do and with multiple vehicles I have to correct to the left and if I let go of the steering wheel in my Jlur I’m pretty sure the passenger’s would scream:) happy Jeeping.

Yep, factory stabilizer is still in use - I had no idea that some stock ones were pressurized so I will certainly take it off and try it without.

Thanks for the detailed info, I was thinking it could be tire related but the pull is quite intense and requires me to countersteer to about 10 degrees to the left - to add to this, being in the UAE it rarely rains so the roads really don't have much camber built into them.

I'm sure the roads have a small amount of slope, however, nothing to cause the pull im experiencing. I had a truck before with 33's BFG AT's, Bilstein lift etc. and that drove dead straight, as do all other vehicles I've driven out here including my 2008 JK.

Another thing I notice is that when I put the wheel perfectly straight and hold it with both hands, the car veers off to the right as described initially, the wheel also jars to the right a little when I go over a speed bump - not sure if that is related to this issue or not or if that is just from the lift.

Thanks guys.
