At Les Schwab right now getting a set of their new Open Range AT tires. It's a somewhat aggressive AT with a mountain snowflake rating and a 60,000 mile warranty. They are heavy, but I wanted puncture protection when in the mountains. I'm certain they will hurt my fuel mileage, but I hope not too much.....we'll see I guess. They are 285/70-17s.

The fitment seems nearly perfect. They extend out to the edge of the fender but no further. They fill the fender opening better without rubbing. I do not believe a lift is needed to run these.

So far..... they seem quiet on the pavement, they do not rub anywhere, the Jeep actually seems to drive better, speed vs engine rpm vs transmission ratios seem better matched, all in all I am pleased. They should work well for my intended useage on FS roads and back country travel.

This maybe should have been the factory stock size.
