Hello Jeep Fam!

Recently wired up my BD S8 10" lightbar. I got the wire harness suggested for the light bar from BD as well. I installed and wired the whole thing up and wanted to test/adjust before I tied it into the AUX switch wires and closed everything up.

First thing is the wire harness has a short run to a weatherproof connector (which connects to the light bar), a longer one with the same connector at the end, a short run to an external switch (which has a disconnect in the middle of it), and a black wire with ring terminal and a red wire with a ring tern=minal, these all terminate at what I think is some sort of relay.

So the red wire goes to the appropriate AUX switch wire in the engine bay, the black runs to a ground terminal right next to where the AUX wires are, and I ran the long run (through the engine bay) out to the weatherproof connector on the light bar. I then removed the external switch from its mid run connector. The light is not working when I run the AUX switch in the truck, I hooked it up to switch 4.

While I was at it, I took the red and black and hooked it up straight to the battery and used the supplied switch and the light would turn on either.

Did I wire this thing up wrong or is it a bum light?

Any help is appreciated in advance!

To test the light just run the pos/neg to the battery real quick and see if it turns on. Based on your description it seems like you might be over complicating things a bit.

so the lightbar has a POS/NEG coming out of it going into a deutsch connector. From that connector you can trim everything off of it and just keep the pos/neg

POS goes to the aux bundle and the NEG goes to a suitable ground.

Which aux switch did you wire it up to, the 3/4 switches use lower amperage.

So the first pic is the cable coming off the light.
The second is the connection from the light bar to the wiring through the engine bay.
The third is the "relay" where the wires from the light end.
There is a black and red wire coming from it with an inline fuse. From that fuse, I have the black grounded to the truck and the red connected to the AUX for connection.

Are you saying I should cut all of that out and run just a red and black from the connection in the second pic to where I have the ground hooked up and the red to either AUX 1 or 2?

Thanks for your help with this.

AUX switches 3 & 4 should work if it only needs 4.06A, correct?

I'm assuming you checked the fuse? Sometimes they aren't shipped with one in the holder. Also could be blown

It's good. Double checked twice.

Sorry about the issue, have you tested the light directly to the battery?

This will confirm the light is working 100%. If you have jumper leads you can clamp them to the battery and our light.

Please call our tech support department at 800-422-5292 and we'll help solve the issue.
