Noticed the side walls on my new pats are peeling off/ are cut. They have only been on the Jeep for like 2 weeks. I’ve never had this happen before, is this a defect in the tire and is it something to worry about??

from the pictures it looks like there are scrapes on the sidewall near that spot. looks like something cought it and it tore. I know a few running thesemand they haven't had any issues, yours looks to be like trail damage, or from maybe hitting a curb etc.

when did this happen, and we're you aired down etc? it seems like damage related, but if not I would assume defect and should be replaced. depending on where you got them you may get more pushback depending on how they look in person as to me it seems to show some sidewall scrapes near there.

Looks like you snagged them on something based on the scrape marks.

I haven’t been doing anything too crazy. I’ve been airing down to 15psi on the trails. I’ve never had an issue like this before. Possible these side walls are just super soft? I’m sure they didn’t just start peeling just concerned because these are brand new tires.

the pats are super soft rubber, so if aired down low, there is a good chance something just caught the sidewall there where the letter raises up and peeled it back. I know duratracs have sidewalls that if snagged can tear, this may be similar. however, I have seen the 38" pats aired down and tackle some pretty serious trails so I would guess yours is a unique situation, and not a more widespread issue with the quality of the brand.

yours looks like it had something catch right at the junction of the sidewall and the raised letter and just tore it back. luckily it seems it only pulled away the outer layer and did not result in a flat.

A raised white letter side wall is all white under a thin skin of black rubber. For years 4 wheelers do not buy raised white letter tires. Same thing happens if the tires rub the curb. Just say no to white letter tires.
