Is it possible to modify an order after it's been accepted? Does it require cancelling and reordering? I've got an order in for a sport S, but I'm thinking, mainly after looking at the cost of the options, that I may want to add half doors w/ base uppers. The BesTop half doors aren't bad, but I know the wife would prefer a complete half door over just a shell. I've reached out to my salesman but haven't heard back yet...I'm guessing he's waiting to ask either the inventory guy or the sales manager before he answers, but I was curious if this was common practice or if anyone had any experience with it. I'm hoping since they haven't started production yet, and it's adding an item that has little to do with production, it's feasible to do. I was just curious if anyone had experience with this.

TIA

I don't know. Last time I checked I was "waiting to gather necessary parts" Not sure what the current status is. But I figure adding half doors should be minor. Maybe I'm just uninformed though...which wouldn't be the first time. :D

That’s D, so you have a VIN. I think a couple guys have been able to make a modification, but it will take your dealer going to the regional FCA rep and getting approval to get it done.

Sweet, thanks. I'm guessing I'll hear from him tomorrow. Worst case scenario I save $2,300 and she learns to live without doors.

Half doors are one thing that will be almost impossible to get after the fact. If you want them, I’d try to get the dealer to reorder if they can’t modify.

Happy wife, happy life.

Correct,,,I've done it. Orders can be modified until they hit D1. However be warned, changes could affect your build date and push it back.

I'm pretty sure once you have your VIN is nearly impossible. You'll likely need to cancel and reorder. But check with your salesperson.
