I am looking to find a reputable company to create a custom metal replacement door pocket for front and rear on JLU and JT. I have found a couple of places, but the style they offer is the flush mount version. I am looking more for the one that can hold a can drink in the front and has some “storage” room in it. Would be custom to go with the theme of the Jeep. Thanks for any input!

@SadRobot had something made. Not sure on the storage though.

I had some plastic Unofficial Use door pockets and found the drink can contour of the pocket repeatedly bumping into my leg annoying while being slung side to side off road. Maybe I’m just a fragile flower

Mine were custom made but they are flush mount.

If you don't mind coming down to Texas, I know a guy in Princeton who is a really talented aluminum and steel welder, but he charges a pretty penny for that talent.

He was a Structural/Mechanical Engineer for Raytheon for like 25 years

Cell: (469) 288-0660

You can text that cell phone number as well. Shoot him any pictures of any design ideas you have with the detailed message about what exactly you want and how you plan to install it, and he will hit you back when he has the chance with his thoughts on the issue and if he feels comfortable doing it.

He's denied doing work for me before because he either didn't think it was a good enough idea and wouldn't work or because it was possibly unsafe. So he's not just going to take your money if he doesn't think he can provide you with a quality product.

Again it's custom fabrication so get ready to pay it pretty penny!

Have you looked at the ones DV8 makes? I have them in mine and they work great.

I didn't like the drink bumpout either - put one on my wife's side!
