Hi,
I have a small Backroads camp trailer on order. When fully loaded, I anticipate it weighing about 2500 lbs, with much of the weight attributed to the reinforced frame, extra-duty axle, and oversized tires.

I am considering the Lock and Roll hitch system for all-around use, which would be some highway driving to get to the dirt roads.

Jeep Wrangler JL Lock and Roll hitch system: What do you think? 501-502

Have you used one of these or the other articulated alternatives?

What do you know or think about them?

Thank you.

I have the Max-Coupler hitch in the garage waiting for me to finish my off-road trailer build.
It is my understanding the Max-Coupler came to market due to the lack of customer service from Lock’N’Roll.
No idea if thats true or not.
I do like the Max Coupler style but obviously have no real world experience.

@Vinman

Thanks for the heads up. I just looked for the Max Coupler, and could not figure out which website actually represented the manufacturer.

Can you share a link?

I found a CU Off Road website with a bunch of 3d render illustrations. It left me wondering why they did not post photos of the actual product.

Thank you.

LOL

I found two threads on another off-road forum in which one guy spent five years complaining about his Lock and Roll and the horrible customer service. Then, the very same guy spent the next two and a half years complaining about his Max Coupler and the horrible customer service.

Go figure.

Both systems seem to satisfy most people.

One thing that seemed to be mentioned frequently is that the Lock and Roll is perceived as easy to hook up when the trailer and tow vehicle are on uneven terrain.

Thank you.
