I’m looking for a little lighting for the trail. For this discussion, I would like to hear comments on the pros/cons or your opinions of either the Mopar 7” lights. https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/7-inch-led-offroad-light-jeep-wrangler-jl-82215386

Or the Baja design 10” light bar (white) https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/OnX6-LED-Light-Bars.asp

in both cases the lights will be mounted on a Mopar grille guard. https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/grille-winch-guard-jeep-wrangler-jl-82215351

Thoughts?

I think that I like the look of the bar better. Any other thoughts?

both would look great. I'm personally digging the more traditional style lights lately so I'll vote mopar. I was debating mopar or Baja Designs myself.

Any other lights on the vehicle at the A pillars or above the windshield? I personally like a consistent look over the vehicle, so say, e.g., you had round lights at the A pillars or across the roof, I would go Mopar. If you have another bar on the hood or roof (or if planned in the future), I would go bar to keep a consistent look to your lighting. I have the 5 in Mopars on my A pillars (on KC mounts), so I am personally going Mopar on the bumper. I already have the Mopar mounts for the grill guard and I think they are well made. Hope that helps.

Good point. This is an aesthetic that I had not yet considered. I am not planning a bar at the roof but maybe some lights on the A Pillars down the road. Nothing planned yet. If I go bar, I would put a cube on each A pillar. Thanks for mentioning that.

You’ll be blown away by how much light the OnX6+ puts out.
And it’s a simple (and cheap) lens replacement to go from spot, to driving, to flood, in clear or yellow.
Whatever suits your conditions best.

I have the Mopar 7” lights. They are incredibly powerful - light up the night. Only gripes are: would be great to have amber lens options, they are too powerful for on road as the dispersion is wide, and you will melt the plastic covers if you turn on the lights and forget to remove. The wiring kit it comes with is great, and hopefully you have the OEM aux switches as install is a piece of cake. You will also need to buy the brackets that mount to the winch guard as they are sold separately. I bought mine at BAM wholesale, had a great price! I’d buy them again.

Thank you. I have the aux switches and harness so install for any lights should be quite straight forward. Looks good and you have them set up on the same bar as I have.

I am leaning to the Baja bar both because of the lens swap feature and also I am starting to like the linear lines of the light bar on the grille guard. Decisions, decisions!
