Just curious as I’m getting conflicting reports from the multitude of dealers I’m speaking on regarding a rubicon JL build.

Does the leather stitching replace the leather trim package or is it effectively added together and becom close to a 3k option to have the good stick leather.

You mean the stitched leather option?
It requires the cloth package. It can’t be used with the leather package. So you’ll get stitched leather seats but you won’t get rest of the options that come with the leather package.

That’s the conflicting information I’ve been getting from several dealers. Some have said you have to order leather trim AND leather stitch, and some have said you only need to order the leather stitch upgrade.

I want the whole leather package but want to ensure I’m not being double charged.

Wouldn’t make sense to pay for both packages.

I'm lost. Is this new for the 2019? For the 18's there was only one leather package.

Are you talking about the two Katzkin leather seat options - CBS (Hex Stitched) and CBQ (perforated)? If that's the case you do not also order the standard leather. You order cloth, then add the CBS or CBQ leather option. Many dealers get this confused. If they submit the order with both standard leather and the Katzkin CBS or CBQ leather code it'll create an order error.

On the rubicon order guide and confirmed by several dealers, a perforated leather is not an option. Only the stitch leather coded as CBS. Some dealers are adding the standard (AL-x9) leather trimmed bucket seat package with the (CBS) mopar stitched leather. Some have said not needed to add them together. However all dealers have been unable to answer the difference between them and /or have seemed very confused with this option.

Anyone with similar experience? Or better insight?

Yes, my order was placed in June with the CBS leather, but has been delayed because of the power top. The standard leather option puts in leather seats and also some leather trim pieces, and the rear center arm rest is a bit different. The CBS leather has Katzkin send leather seat covers to Mopar which are then installed prior to delivery of your Jeep. The seats are higher quality than the factory leather seats, but because the Jeep starts as a cloth non-leather option you get the rear arm rest that comes with the cloth option instead of the rear arm rest that comes with the leather, and no gap hider for the seats like the leather comes with. So here are the possible combos:

1. Factory cloth
2. Factory leather seats, including leather seat style rear arm rest with cup-holders
3. CBS leather, ordered without stock leather, gives you the hex stitched Katzkin seats, but with the stock rear armrest that comes with the cloth option and no gap hider, since the Jeep starts as a cloth Jeep
4. Trying to combine CBS leather option with factory leather option creates an order error in the FCA system, as evidenced by this member:

Not sure what other info you're looking for. The CBS code does not get combined with the factory leather code.

That helps clear some things up thanks. Attached is what their telling me and some other dealers are saying just the mopar stitch leather adds to the cloth.
