I noticed a leak recently on this rear 44 axle and it looks like it is coming from a hole on the axle? In the pic I drew a green arrow pointing at the hole so y'all know what I'm talking about. Has anyone experienced this and what is that hole for exactly? Also is this a major concern as in axle replacement? Or is this not a major concern and just weld it type thing? Also there is a pinion seal leak in the front and rear as well but for this leak in the pic the hole is wet which looks like it freshly leaked from that hole? Any help would be appreciated.

That is a rosette weld. If it's leaking from there, then you need to get the dealership to replace the axle. That axle tube is pressed in with RTV on the inside of the housing. You might get away with adding more RTV, but if it's leaking there, that means the rosette weld is no good.

That welds purpose is to prevent the tube from spinning in the housing under torque.

I'd clean it all with brake clean. Any chance that stain on the diff cover is a small leak up top (it wouldn't be submerged in oil there. Potential it could run down from there and end up at the rosette weld as a low point in the drip. Probably a long shot since the housing isn't stained.
