Several of us are going to do Ouray to Lake City and stay over night. First day we will do engineer pass to Lake City. Second day Lake City to Ouray by way of Cinnamon Pass. We have someone that needs to be at Montrose Airport at 1pm On second day. How long will that take. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciate.

If you’re talking to get to Montrose from Ouray I’d plan an hour to be safe. Not tons of traffic in that area. But it depends when you’re going. Jeep Jamboree runs 9/22-9/24 and that’ll add a good amount of traffic.

Real suggestion? Either grab an extra day up front, or leave the friend in Ouray. You'd have to leave LC really early to get that trip done. There is no "fast" way to 550 from Animas Forks once you get down off of Cinnamon.

LC to Animas Forks via Cinnamon is 2.5 hours or so.
Animas Forks to Ouray via Silverton is at least 1.5 hours and that is your fastest way to Ouray (Mineral Creek or California/Hurricane/Corkscrew routes would all take quite a bit longer but would sure be a lot more fun).
Ouray to Montrose is at least an hour. There is construction north of Ouray.

That's five hours in the seat with zero stops to enjoy the views along the way (no potty breaks), and that is anticipating no traffic on the trails. Real world? I'd say at least 6.5 or 7 hours.
