The Blanca/Lake Como area is one of my favorites in Colorado. I have taken dozen of trips up here to either hike the three 14ers (Blanca, Ellingwood Point, Little Bear) or just drive the trail and hangout at the lake but I have not driven this trail in the JL till now. I had some concerns with breakover angles so decided to take all the easier lines and not do anything stupid. The JL handled Jaws 1-4 easily, it was point and shoot the entire trail.

After rebuilding the RockJock front UCA joints I have since had the snap ring pop out twice in the span of a week and replaced with a new snap ring each time so I decided I would trailer the JL for this trail run. Glad I did because the snap ring popped out on the trail for the third time so I will be going back to stock front UCA bushings here shortly.

Jaws 2. No games here, multiple people have rolled and died on this obstacle... and as recently as this September. I stayed off the high side and took the easy line:

Jaws 2.5 and my baby flex:

Jaws 3 we breezed right thru, no issues so on final approach to the lake. Little Bear is center:

My mind is generally in the gutter and I was thinking - there is no way somebody would be posting about that

Beautiful pics though, they almost make up for my disappointment. ;)
Thanks for sharing!

Unnreal. This has been on my to do list since I first saw it in a 4 wheel drive and sport utility magazine in 93. Good to see it's still open, and still challenging!

Very cool.
I don't have the will to wade through a build thread, but generally speaking, what size tires and lift do you have?
I wonder how hard this would be in my stock JLUR Xtreme Recon with 35s and the small lift that comes stock with the XR package. Hard, I'm sure. Doable, I would imagine. A good idea, I don't know.

37s with 2.5" lift.....just enough to get over those pesky speed bumps at the mall
