I installed 3.5" kenwood speakers in the dash only (replaced both). I bough the plug and play harness for each of them. When i hooked them up they were the ONLY speakers in the jeep to be working. I played with the audio settings to move it back to the top sound bar and no change at all- still only coming from the dash speakers. It was plug and play, no way i mixed up the wiring. Any thoughts on why this would be? I have the 7" uconnect if that matters. I just wanted to upgrade the dash speakers to ones with tweeters. Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Not sure if this helps, but the Metra adapters provided with my Infinity Reference speakers had reversed polarity. I had to de-pin them and reverse the wires' orientation so that the signal could be processed correctly.

This issue with the adapters is well-known. If they were provided with your Kenwood speakers, and installed without examining them first, possibly this could explain the current malfunction. Just a thought.

I got the connectors from a third party. By ‘reverse the wires orientation’ do u mean basically swap wires, black to white and white to black?

Per the related photo in my linked post, you'll examine each wire's position in the connectors as received. Then, remove ("de-pin") each wire from the connector, and reinsert it in the connector on the side where its neighbor used to be. Left to right, black to white, so to speak.

The foregoing should be done only if you've authenticated that the polarity of the connectors, as received, is incorrect for your application.

Okay thank you, that makes sense. Im having a hard time depinning, any specific trick? looks like if you are looking at the pin from the top there is a little tab to press in but when i do that the wire doesnt just slide out. Something im missing?

I should have mentioned that I used the correct tool from this assortment.

With prior projects, I'd faff about with a hobby screwdriver, which took extra time and effort.

Thanks so much man! I was able to swap them, unfortunately is must be another problem. When I play the radio everything works (can fade the music to any speaker) but when I play a song through my phone (car play) the front speakers are the only ones that work. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling but nothings helping. Not sure what the issue would be now
