- 2023 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
oh it will. As much as I love the gas Engines, the new generations do not love their cars and engines like previous ones. The 392 was never intended to sell in any kind of volume. FCA has been struggling to meet CAFE requirements for a number of years; selling lots of Wrangler V8s would only make the problem worse.
So they decided to drop the 392 into Wrangler but offer it only in limited numbers as a halo vehicle, and came up with a very steep price to make sure 392 remains relatively exclusive.
Had Jeep really wanted to offer a V8 across the entire Wrangler lineup, they would have used the 5.7 HEMI instead, and given it a more attainable price. But then, that was never the intent.
Gen Z could care less about a V8 let alone even know what that is.
Again, it’s a goner. Sooner or later.
