I’m about to add a rubicon xr suspension to my sport. In addition I have a 1” teraflex spacer kit and a 1/2” teraflex spacer kit.

everything I’ve read on here and on the teraflex site suggests I put the 1” spacers in the front and the 1/2” in the rear due to the stack stance of the JLU’s.

I bought the JLU with 315’s and a 2” AEV spacer kit on it already. With that kit these are the dimensions I currently have:

Measurements:

Drivers side:

Rear tire to fender - 5 1/4”

Ground to fender 39”

Front tire to fender - 5 1/2”

Ground to fender 39”

Passengers side:

Rear tire to fender - 5 1/8”

Ground to fender 38 3/4”

Front tire to fender- 5 3/8”

Ground to fender 39” slightly under possibly

So those measurements suggest I put the 1” spacer in the rear but again these are with that 2” AEV spacer lift.

So I have 2 questions if y’all would entertain me:

One, does anyone have some knowledge about JLU factory stance…high in the front? Higher in the rear? My measurements go against what I’m reading but again I have the 2” lift.

Second, according to my measurements I’ll be about a 1/2” difference….Front will be 1/2” lower since it’s about a 1/4” difference now and I’ll be adding the 1” to rear and 1/2” to front and the rubicon xr suspension. Is 1/2” difference bad?

thanks a bunch guys I’ve been reading the heck out of this forum and learning a lot!

I got an XR, and immediately put on a 1.5" teraflex spacer up front, .75" in the rear, and that leveled mine nicely. I didn't care about measurements, just how it looked to the naked eye. I feel like it's extremely level now, love the stance.
Also, something to keep in mind, sometimes the front spacer is 1/2" taller than advertised because it also replaces the front coil isolators. Keep that in mind when you do your measurements. It's possible when you'll actually lose 1.5" in height from swapping front spacers, if that makes sense. I think rear is usually right on.
Maybe not... but something to think about.

The rubicon’s are typically an 1” up in the front right?

the teraflex spacers I have are definitely 1/2” and 1”. No compensation for front or back

I'll have to defer to others that have more experience with normal Rubicons, since I got the XR, but I believe the Rubicon is about 1" taller than a sport both front and rear. XR springs will give you even more height over that, probably between .5 and 1 more inch.

The AEV lift on your jeep right now compensates for the isolator according to the website, so I would assume that if you take the 2" AEV lift off and replace with your 1" teraflex spacer, you'll actually lose 1.5". I'm just assuming, hopefully someone else will chime in and keep me honest lol.

It's never an exact science, but it seems to me if my math is right that if you swap to XR springs and those teraflex spacers, you'll be approx. 1 inch lower than you are right now in both the front and rear. No change to your rake (assuming your aev spacer up front is actually 2.5" to account for the isolator).

Ah okay I see what you’re saying. Man losing an inch would be the exact opposite of what I’m going for that would suck! I just wanted to gain 1 more inch of lift and was hoping the XR suspension with the 1” and the 1/2” would put me around 2.75”-3”

Ya, since you're starting with sport springs, that's what's hurting you. Consider putting the AEV lift on top of the XR springs. But you'll definitely want adjustable LCAs if you do that.

well hell I’m all about just adding those shocks to the AEV lift but I figured that would give me closer to 4” of lift and create all sorts of caster problems. I did get the mopar longer LCA’s
