To try and solve my on going death wobble issue, I’m swapping out stock ball joints with Dynatrac HD all steel ones. After $700 and waiting a month to get the ball joints, I called my local mech to have them installed and his shop manager quoted me almost $800! He told me it takes 6 hours, according to “the book”. The mechanic had previously told me it was a 3-4 hour job, which seemed more reasonable. So my question is to others who have boldly gone before, what did it cost or how long did it take?

$1500 to replace ball joints is absurd.

Seems it is an involving repair/replacement but nothing outrageous, if you have the tools. $100-200 for a ball joint press as most people don't have them, or rent from autozone.

ETA: Ball joint kits are $200 each so $400 + shipping/tax in parts.
