Texas JL AUDIO FIX86 NIB

I have nib JL FIX 86 DSP for sale. I bought it for an install but then my installer opened it up, looked at it and said that it won't work for me and recommended the pac amp-pro device instead. I did not know enough about it to say otherwise so I am getting the Pac device from him and trying to get some of my money back on this.

What did the fix do better than the pac? I wish I knew more about installation of these and I would just try it myself but he said something about I would need another t harness (already running 2 amps, one small one for components and a larger one for subs) and it would not retain steeling wheel controls? I must admit, that one didn't make much sense at all to me as for this thing is only controlling a signal that is straight out of the head unit to the amp, correct?

Well crap. I wish I knew more about these things and could get out there and do it myself. The second amp and subs they added sound fine but the other components sound terrible still and need some kind of help, hence why I bought the FiX.

The components are powered by the little alpine power pack unit only rated for 45w per channel and was told that its crossover isn't doing a great job at isolating the frequencies so there is a light hiss you can hear when volume is off, or down low. Said that a new, more powerful amp would be a good thing to replace too, that the cross over would do a better job and could give the speakers more power, that sound reasonable?

no current pac, it had to be ordered.

I'll try but all that soldering, resistors, and all the hookups on the side of the Fix confuse the hell out of me. If I could just add an extra RCA cable and put it inline I feel I could do that I think but the other stuff is a little out of my wheel house but then again I have never really tried. At the moment I have little time to devote to it so I wanted to just take it somewhere and let them do it.
