Awesome job, young man. Reminds me of how I used to "fix" tv's, watches, electronics or anything I could get my hands on at his age. Led me down the engineering path. One quick question........did you or your son have to go through the firewall for any reason? If so what is the easiest path? I'm looking to install an amplifier in the coming weeks and any helpful info is greatly appreciated.

With me back in the early 70's it was Mr Coffee coffemakers and Zenith TV's that I cut my teeth on. Parts were hard to come by so I had to constantly improvise.

No he did not go through the firewall but I will look tomorrow and see if I can locate a good point for your amp wire..

Wow that is awesome looking! Would you share brand and model of bumper?

I found that bumper on ebay it looks to be a Penton made in China. Only $169 and free shipping but does not state how heavy it is. States the d link mounts are welded inside and out. I want a bumper to be able to attach a tow bar to the dlink mounts but a little hesitant if this bumper will hold up and not fail towing behind my RV. I really like the looks and price of it from the pictures.

I think you would be alright. But honestly I would not do it. Now If you could buy one of these without the d links you could bolt directly to frame and the bumper would be a non issue.
The bumper weighs 65lbs and thinner metal than the more expensive bumpers.

I agree, Not so heavy is good for not weighing the front end down though with a winch but I may want to get more guaranteed bumper for towing or get a base plate. Be bummer if it failed winching something but be a likely catastrophe towing.

This is interesting found what looks like the same bumper on amazon but under a different brand name called Restyling factory and they are selling for $299. A lot of reviews too.

Nice. I was looking at this bumper wondering if it would fit for the same reason. I’m wanting to tow our new JL Sport behind our motorhome.

I was thinking of trying to bolt these to it for the tow bar and use the D-Links for safety chain.

I found out you do not want to bolt it just to the bumper has to be through and to the frame. However If you search ebay "Jk stubby winch bumper" an inexpensive bumper for $183 that has the Dlinks separate from the bumper that bolt through to the frame. I was thinking leave the Dlinks out and use the hard rock adapters and bolt through to the frame. Would have to attach the safety chain some where behind the bumper and to or around the frame. This is the ideal bumper for those brackets https://www.rockhard4x4.com/product_p/rh-5005.htm but spendy also considering we have to get a braking system I am leaning towards ready brute elite and that is also over a grand.

I’m trying to decide between ready brute, stay in play, InvisiBrake and brakebuddy stealth right now. No real winner jumps out yet but I do like simplicity of the ready brute.

My 14 y/o Son installed the bumper/winch/LED lightbar today. He even modified the OEM splash shield to give it a finished look underneath. Wired the #3 in and #4 Out Aux switches to control it. He used the AUX #1 for the LED and mounted the OEM fogs in the round holes.
