Jeep Wrangler JL 'JEEP' Brass Badge IMG_1559
This cool 75 YO body badge was put on 2nd half 1950 vehicles only. Willys Wagons, Trucks and Jeepsters got them during the mid-year introduction of the V-nose grill, hood and front fenders of Willys bodys. Prior Willys were know as flat-nose. Once in awhile you will see the badge on a proper Willys Jeepster restoration, seldom a wagon or truck. Of note, It was also a very early on usage of the word 'JEEP' on the manufactures products. Later year Jeep CJ5 had JEEP stamped in the the body panel at same location. I ran it on my JLR's dash until its recent sale. Approx. dimension 2"x1-1/4"x1/16" $375. PM if interested.
BTW, This is not a thick, cast key chain fob reproduction. The raised edge and letters have been rubbed of tarnish. Dark area is patina the brass gets. In the late 80's I use to collect unusual Willys optional equipment found in wrecking yards and sell on eBay. The days of finding these badges are gone.
