Is the 2024 Willys now a locker or limited slip diff? If I understand correctly prior to 2023 Willys was limited slip. Why would Jeep move away from limited slip?

I’m sure it can, I’m not not sure you can get LSD in a Willys model anymore. Even with the locker off I’m sure the BLD still has to do something so the need for limited slip really isn’t there.

Yes, if it’s a factory LSD

We had the 2021 Willys (lifted with 35's) with the LSD.

Now we have the 2024 Willys XR with an additional lift and obviously the 35s.

I do not miss the LSD at all. We live in MN and we get plenty of snow and ice. I didn't find the LSD any better or worse than what we have now. I like the rear locker and think it will be far more helpful off road than the LSD would be in inclement conditions during regular driving.

If the conditions are that bad, slowing down and using 4-HI will suffice.

I think the change was a good move, especially if you option the XR package. I have already added Apex AutoLynx to disconnect the sway bar. A front locker is an option easily added for $$$ but at the moment, I'm very happy with the current setup.

I would not let the non LSD Willys keep you from looking at one.

Jeep likely made the move to compete with other vehicles that offered a rear locker.

I'm certainly not an expert although I probably would not have gone with a Willys this time around if it wasn't for the rear locker.

I actually saw several 24 Willys models without the auxiliary switches when I was searching for my wife’s JLU. Food for thought.
