inspection sticker

My dealer put my inspection sticker on like 6 inches over from where it should of been. it's so distracting while I'm driving. I just got my actual reg and I don't wanna stick it yet because I don't wanna be stuck with this. They even did window etching crooked. How would I go about replacing it? do I have to take it somewhere to pay full price for a new one? I don't really wanna go back to the dealer since it's an hr away.

You'll have to get it re-inspected. Only way in NY.

Frustrating that something so simple get's F'd up. If someone would of put at least 1 ounce of thought into it, they would of done it right.

Throwing this out there...when you get your windshield replaced, you don't have to go get your car re-inspected. I would search youtube for information on removing your current sticker. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=removing+inspection+sticker+without+damage

In the first video I saw...the guy used a heat torch on the outside of the glass to loosen the glue.

NY sticker's are virtually impossible to remove without damaging.

Late tag here, but does anyone have experience removing and relocating a Mass. state sticker? The old paper ones would self destruct, but not sure about the new vinyl ones.

Undoubtedly, you will have an issue with any state inspection sticker you pull off.

Be prepared to pay for another inspection...

For future reference, it is possible. I was able to peal the sticker off the windshield and place it where it should be. It takes patience. I heated it with a blow dryer, then very slowly pealed it back with a razor and gentle pulling. The Mass. sticker does have little breakaway triangles – on the year and state - that don’t come off easily with the sticker. I assume the intent is to show tampering. I was careful with these, again using the razor. I struggled with 2 of them, one I got back in place, the other not so much. Cleaned the window, and it re-stuck just fine. Edges laid down fine. 95% perfect. I drive all stock, and very new, so I doubt I’ll get hassled.

(Texas ones are easy to remove. They actually like their citizens)
