In-vehicle Alexa

I keep reading about how the new Jeeps are supposed to have in-vehicle Alexa. I have a new 2024 Wrangler Sport S 4xe with UConnect 5 without the NAV. I’ve got the skill installed and linked on my Echo device, but I don’t see any Alexa in UConnect. Looking online it says it should be in the UConnect apps, but it’s not. Other guides say download it from the UConnect store, but there’s no store app. I’m in the trial period, so it has active UConnect, SiriusXM, and Mobile Hotspot subscriptions, but I see no way of adding apps or using Alexa in the video. I use Audible for my audiobooks and we have Amazon Music, so Alexa would be very helpful since Siri won’t control those apps. Am I missing something?

I have the same issue. I cannot find verification but Alexa may be only available on the Nav version of the radio. Very disappointing.

That's what I worried about too. It says something on the NAV version on the site, but there's a "/" so I took it to mean that it was for the normal AND the NAV version. I called Jeep Connect support to ask, and they said I had to download it in the UConnect Store, but there isn't a UConnect Store app in the Jeep. He said I needed to take it to the dealer to get that installed, but I kinda got the impression that he didn't know what he was talking about.

I am also working through the process with the dealer. I will let you know what they tell me. I was also expecting the voice controls in uconnect to work. They do not work on mine. If you do not have a phone connected and hit the voice button than nothing happens.

Oh, my voice controls work. However, there’s no Alexa. It’s all Siri. Siri is fine for controlling CarPlay, but Alexa is better at answering questions. Plus, we use Amazon Music and Audible, which you can’t control with Siri.

Installing an Amazon Echo Auto is an option. Sure another $55+- to buy an Echo Auto, but it plays well with UConnect. Very easy to set-up in the JL.

True, although I’d rather use the in-built one, if it exists.
