2018 Wrangler Unlimited Moab
I have a 2018 Wrangler Unlimited Moab. I have recently joined a Wrangler club, and have done a few level 1/2 runs. I have seen where a few mods might be beneficial. My Jeep already has a (I believe) 2 1/2 " lift. I'm thinking a few more inches wouldn't hurt. Some of the other members have more extensive modifications, like sway bar disconnects, additional shocks, etc. I need advice on what works versus what looks cool. What should I do first? I'm not looking for a mall queen, but what is practical and functional. Oh, and I don't have a lot of money.
Suggestions?
TIA for any guidance you all might suggest.

I suggest you start by asking around the club you joined. As you become familiar with concepts and ideas, search this form for posts on those items, and read up. learning is fun, yet you need to learn what is correct for your needs, not what is cool for others. And have fun during all this, and make new friends.

Post some pictures of the suspension components, and give us the shock eye to eye measurements. We should be able to identify your current setup.

Stock items that matter off road:
  1. 32" tires
  2. Rear LSD
  3. Rear axle Dana 44
  4. Steel Bumper to take a winch.
  5. Front axle Dana 30
  6. 3.45 gears
  7. 4 Low Range 2.72:1

The stock items list did not indicate a lift. So if you have a lift it was added and means there was probably other items done too. I would work with the local jeep clubs to inspect what was done or find a local off road shop to go over it. Once you get a clean bill of health, wheel it. You will find out want you need or want. This your jeep, don't spend a dime unless you want said item or modification done. Good Luck and Jeep on your own terms.
