How to prevent splatter between stock bumper gap?

Hello, has anyone here solved the problem of stopping dirt/mud from entering the gap between the side fender and stock bumper gap on the JL? If so, what did you do?

I just deal with it. I guess you could make a small flap out of thin black plastic and fasten it inside the fender liner to cover the gap. I wouldn’t want to try to close the gap as debris and moisture would get caught in there
